CBM's Character-Building Curriculum provides children and youth with consistent, Scripture-based instruction that shapes both biblical understanding and daily living. Rooted in God's Word, developed by CBM missionaries, and used across multiple ministry environments worldwide.
CBM's Character-Building Curriculum is designed to provide children and youth with consistent, Scripture-based instruction that shapes both biblical understanding and daily living. Rooted in God's Word, this curriculum teaches foundational truths while emphasizing character formation that reflects Christ.
Developed and written by CBM missionaries, the curriculum reflects both theological depth and real-world experience. It is actively used within CBM to teach Bible lessons in Bible Released Time programs and Bible Clubs, ensuring that students receive clear, consistent instruction across multiple settings.
The Character-Building Curriculum emphasizes both knowledge and transformation. Core areas of focus include:
To help you evaluate the curriculum, CBM provides sample lessons that reflect the scope, structure, and teaching approach used across all programs.

In addition to CBM-led ministries, the curriculum is also available as a resource for churches and ministries and homeschool families.
One of CBM's online ministry resources is The Shepherd's Place, operated by CBM missionaries. This website offers biblically grounded teaching materials in multiple languages — including Spanish, Filipino, and Mandarin Chinese — ensuring that sound, Scripture-based teaching is accessible globally.
Mark has been a CBM missionary for almost 40 years. He and his wife, Roberta, serve with CBM at CBM of VA / Camp Red Arrow, where Mark is the Area Director. In addition to leading the local ministry, Mark actively teaches Bible Released Time programs. With a passion for clearly communicating Scripture to children, he developed this curriculum to introduce foundational biblical truths in an engaging, age-appropriate way.
Kevin has been a CBM missionary for 10 years. He and his wife, Christine, serve as leaders of The Shepherd's Place online resource. Kevin also serves several CBM camps as webmaster and registrar, and actively partners with indigenous language speakers to translate Bible lessons into Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Filipino.
CBM's Character-Building Curriculum is available to churches, ministries, and families who want to implement faithful, structured Bible teaching.
